The speculation around The Game Awards was significant, especially after presenter Geoff Keighley shared a mysterious image of a strange statue. The mystery is finally answered. Larian Studios is working on a fresh Divinity game.
Titled simply Divinity, the game was showcased with a daring trailer packed with memorable imagery, from a burning man to scenes of revelry and the literal descent into chaos.
Not the Expected Sequel
For those hoping for Divinity Original Sin 3, this is not that. Larian clarified that a follow-up to its venerated RPGs is not currently in development.
Nevertheless, the developer referred to this new Divinity as a next chapter of the core franchise. This distinction implies that the team could be crafting a real-time experience rather than another turn-based title. Currently, it remains theory, as only a teaser video is available.
